'Deep and Lonely Spirits' is how Dan explained the isolation of living alone after the passing of his wife Meru less than a year ago. The home he has lived in for years with his family is now where he spends his days, confined by the many health challenges he faces. After a life of travel, migrating from India with his wife, to Papua New Guinea and finally Australia, Dan has had to adjust to a quiet existence and a life without Meru. Despite this, Dan's connection to his religious Baha'i Faith is what has kept him going through the difficult times. His deep connection to his faith has given him purpose and grounded him through recent hardship. The time spent with Dan has given us both a chance at creating a lasting friendship, and a reason for him to share his life and faith with others.
