ABOUT
Isabella Porras is a queer Australian- Nicaraguan raised in Solomon Islands, they are a graduate of the Bachelor of Photography at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University (2021). With a major in Documentary Photography, Porras’ work has explored Australian identity, migration and melancholy through an intimate lens. Using a collaborative approach to photography, Porras work's closely with their subjects to give them agency and power over their image.
Porras aims to develop their practice and skills as a documentary photographer, with a focus on long-form narrative storytelling. Porras’ work is diverse: they have documented traditional well-diggers in Bangalore, India, to a personal observation of their mother’s life.
